The Dwellings Family
The Dwellings Family is a relational network of leaders from all over the world - everyday people, house church leaders, traditional church leaders - all on the journey toward Christ together. We are pioneers in the Church who help people cultivate communities around the presence of Jesus.
About the Dwellings Family:
Dwellings is an intentionally decentralized movement made up of people who have been trained and shaped by Dwellings’ approach to spiritual community. Those in the Dwellings Family have completed the leadership Cohort or Training Circle course, share our core beliefs, and have chosen to stay connected to others on a similar journey.
As you begin exploring the ministry, our central team may be your first point of contact—especially as you get oriented to Dwellings and our resources.
At times, it may be more helpful to connect with someone closer to your context—geographically, culturally, or practically—who is already living this out. That’s why we created the Dwellings Family Directory: to help you find a traveling companion and encouragement as you cultivate a community around the presence of Jesus.
Within this family, Dwellings Ambassadors serve as trusted leaders, encouragers, and connectors. They actively cultivate community and come alongside others with prayer, wisdom, and lived experience. You can find Dwellings Ambassadors listed on our team page.
Here are a few helpful things to consider as you explore connecting with our Family:
-
The Dwellings Family Directory isn’t to help you find the right group to join, but to help you find the courage to begin a community where you are.
Whether you’re just beginning or already exploring, the Directory exists to:
find encouragement from someone in a similar context
connect with someone a few steps ahead
gain clarity and confidence to begin cultivating a community locally
-
The Dwellings Family is a relational network of people walking this journey together—encouraging one another as traveling companions along the way.
As part of the Dwellings Family, you’ll have access to:
First Thursday Dwellings Family Call
A monthly gathering (first Thursday of each month) for Scripture-centered discipleship, rooted in the presence of God.Ongoing connection to a global family

We’ve found it’s most helpful to have a shared foundation before stepping into the Dwellings Family so that you can fully understand and embody what we’re about as a ministry.
The primary way to join is by completing either the Dwellings Cohort or our online Training Circle.
Once you’ve completed one of these pathways, you’ll be invited to join the Dwellings Family and stay connected to others on a similar journey.
You can learn more about the Cohort or Training Circle here.

Dwellings Ambassadors are trusted leaders within the Dwellings Family who help extend the culture and mission of Dwellings in relational ways.
They support the growth of the movement by:
encouraging those who are cultivating community
offering prayer, wisdom, and lived perspective
reinforcing shared theology and posture
contributing to conversations like the First Thursday Family calls
Ambassadors are not staff members or regional directors. They serve as relational encouragers, not organizational leaders.
Ambassadors may offer:
encouragement and prayer
stories from their own context
perspective shaped by lived experience
help discerning next steps
Ambassadors do not:
represent Dwellings as an institution
speak on behalf of the organization
provide formal oversight or accountability
replace local church leadership
We trust the Holy Spirit to guide each connection with wisdom, humility, and discernment.
“The Dwellings Family has been life changing for us. In a type of ministry that usually is full of spiritual nomads, we found our home in the Dwellings Family.”
