Register Your Community or House Church
The Spirit is sparking little fires all over the world and we’re making new ways for each of you to find one other. Anyone desiring to be more connected to the broader Dwellings movement can register their community or house church below. Experience shows it’s best if a group has a good start before asking to be registered. We recommend you have been meeting for a month or two before filling out this form.
Dwellings’ shared beliefs and values help us maintain unity around primary convictions in our decentralized movement. All who register below should agree with the beliefs and values of being a Dwellings Community or House Church. Read about them here.
You’ll list a name associated with your community. Most name their communities or house churches after the area where they gather, (when you grow this promotes clarity) but if you register you may also use the tag line, “part of the Dwellings Family” after the name - if you wish! You may also tag @dwllngs in your byline if you use social media at this stage. We are not building a denomination and we will remain decentralized, but we recognize the value of connectivity and shared values, culture, and language. After you register, check out our Design Hub. If you decide to use social media or printed materials for your community, you can have access to photos and optional design ideas there.
Examples of Community Names:
Main Street Community - part of the Dwellings family
The Barn - part of the Dwellings family
3rd Street Community (with no Dwellings reference - that’s great - you can still register!)
Examples of House Church Names:
Hillcrest House Church - part of the Dwellings family
Simons Dorm House Church - part of the Dwellings family
Coffeeshop Church - part of the Dwellings family
5th Street House Church (with no Dwellings reference)
There is no central authority or oversight of registered communities or house churches. We believe this needs to happen locally, so we encourage the cultivation of local accountability and leadership in each community’s region. We discuss healthy leadership and accountability more in the Training Circle. If a community misrepresents the values of Dwellings in a way that harms the overall relational network, they will be asked to remove the word Dwellings from their name. Being registered is not an official sanctioning of a community or house church and does not constitute an approval or endorsement of any group’s theology or practice. If you register you should aim to adhere closely to the beliefs and values of Dwellings, as there is not monitoring or oversight by a central group.
Registering Your Hub
Hubs are collections of communities or house churches within a city or larger area. This collection of communities can gather together and can also share leadership, ideas, and resources. Contact us if you find yourselves having more than one expression in an area, and want to let us know you’re out there. If you share Dwellings’ beliefs and values and have been through our Training Circle or the Dwellings Cohort, we would love to have contact with you and give access to the name Dwellings, and some free brand assets from the Design Hub to use for your city hub, if desired. You may also tag @dwllngs in your byline if you use social media for your hub. Feel free to register your hub if you don’t use the Dwellings name, even if you’re a part of another larger movement, as long as you share our beliefs and values. To register your hub, email Ashley here to set up a conversation with our team.
